Forcing My Analog Synthesizers to Do Arithmetic

Описание к видео Forcing My Analog Synthesizers to Do Arithmetic

Hey everyone, this is a pretty unorthodox video. Although, when working with modular synths, what is orthodox?

** I didn't make this clear in the video, but the inputs in this configuration are coming from the LFOs (both square waves, 50%PW) on the furthest left side of the synth. The LEDs should help you see what's going on.
The output envelope generators are the LEDs in the middle section of the Minibrute synth. The ADSR envelope is on the left, and represents the carry, while the right AD envelope represents the sum. **

I had never really considered the fact that you could build logic gates from basic synthesizer components until recently. Once it clicked, I tried figuring out what I could do with it. I made all the basic logic gates pretty quickly, and realized I could make a half adder not too long after.

I don't know why you would ever want to do this, I just thought it was neat and maybe you all might enjoy the showcase. If you did want to make this, I used the Arturia Minibrute 2S, and the Behringer Neutron synthesizers.

P.S. I'm pretty sure with the addition of a daisy chained quad VCA like Mutable Instruments Veils you could make a full adder. Not 100% sure though...
