To get good at playing the blues, we need to graduate from just playing the pentatonic scales. What better way to break through the stale pentatonic licks but to study the stylings of one and only BB King?

In this short lesson I attempt to demonstrate how BB King didn't really play any scales. He simply played phrases that were fitting (or anticipating) the underlying chords. Let's try to solve the mystery of BB King's approach by examining how is blues different from other types of music and how can we take advantage, as soloists, of the unique blues tonality.
