FuelTech USA pairs its exceptional products with industry-leading customer support and its in-house Mainline Hub Dyno is a valuable tool in that process. The highly acclaimed dyno is available for customers to book so they may sort through new combinations and spend time learning about their engine management system from the team of professionals. Such is the case with T.J. Gatlin, a longtime X275 racer who wanted to ease into his new small-block Chevy combination before getting on-track.

The process involved bolting his 1971 Chevy Nova to the hub dyno, ensuring there is zero tire-slip during the dyno pulls along with proper engine load to provide an accurate and repeatable testing process. Gatlin is new to FuelTech EFI and he learned quite a bit about his FT600 engine management system’s capabilities, including its internal boost controller and the power management capabilities. Those are two valuable features when the car cranks out 2,120 WHP and applies it to the track through Mickey Thompson 275/60R15 drag radial tires. The FT600 also offers sequential injection and ignition, O2 closed loop, Data Logger, Delay Box, Nitrous Controller, and much more. Additionally, the FT600 acts as an LCD display and the TFT touchscreen shows real-time data in addition to allowing the user to make adjustments without a PC connection. Each PowerFT ECU also includes data logging capabilities, making the FT600 and its sibling products a true all-in-one unit.

Accurate EGT data is critical to success in high-power combinations. The FT600 displays that data on the FTManager software thanks to a connection with an EGT-8 CAN unit, which uses CAN connection. The 8-channel conditioner is compatible with Type K thermocouples and can read EGT, oil, air, water temperature, CHT or any other temperature with a thermocouple. The EGT-8 CAN is an input channel expansion module when used with a temperature sensor, allowing the user to expand analog inputs on their FT600, FT550, FT550 LITE, and FT450. For those who require a significant amount of information, FuelTech offers the option to run two EGT-8 CAN modules. And if you need even more data and channels, FuelTech recently released its Input Expander that offers 20 inputs for sensors and 4 inputs for RPM and speed-readings.

Sorting through a brand-new engine combination while providing remarkable customer service to a new user is the reason you’re seeing #FuelTechEverywhere
