OPENING SEASON OF BIG WAVE SURFING AT WAIMEA BAY

November 29th 2024 saw the opening season of Big Wave surfing on the Island of O'ahu. Waimea Bay is a magical place situated next to Pupukea and its 10th iteration since January 3rd,1985 when the Swell is right and the Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational is greenlit thousands of people from around the world including the Hawaiian Islands descend upon the valley transforming the area into a giant amphitheater where spectators cheer on the best Men and Women in the world vying for the title of Eddie Aikau Champion.
