These 3 pillars of rage, combined with a few smaller psychological phenomena, results in an over-invested, unforgiving, and potentially toxic player base. A few of the concepts I cover in this video are generalisable to other kinds of video games too (and no doubt inspires rage in their players), but the others are exclusive to MOBA games, and come about as a byproduct of their unique game design.
