The 3rd part of this CITSO MCI Classic series, and hopefully not the last. Unfortunately this bus suffered the ravages of Quebec roads one too many times. In the previous video, after hitting something really hard on the highway, the bus started veering to the right, and when we arrived in Chateauguay the driver had a hard time to make the first corner. In this part, the driver calls the dispatcher to report the defect, and tried various tricks to solve the problem, without avail. So the dispatcher asked if we could make it to the transfer point and they'd switch off the passengers there. We then continued our trip, and the bus made it successfully, changed out passengers, and drove back on it's own power, to the garage. Certainly something you couldn't say about a more modern bus that would have broken down and refused to move if something like this happened. You could sort of say that this bus broke down with dignity. Passengers were not inconvenienced too much, and there was no need for towing. Now is this the end of the bus? It's from 1991, and they removed the farebox the week before, no reason given, but I assume it was because they have a shortage of these new digital fareboxes, and just assume this bus will be used during rush hour, and most people during rush hour have monthly passes and don't pay cash.
