Budhal village in the Rajouri district of Jammu in India, has been declared as a containment zone after 17 deaths due to a mysterious illness in the region. Additionally, 38 others have been affected, with the disease beginning to occur within three families. Initial tests have indicated the presence of a toxin, and the common factor in all 17 deaths has been damage to the brain and nervous system. The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister also visited the affected village and took stock of the situation. A probe has been launched into the unexplained deaths, and a rapid response team has been deployed in the region.
