BODHI PODCAST | EPISODE #8 | KHENPO VAGINDRA SHILA

Khenpo Vagindra Shila is a well-known name not just in Nepal but among the followers of Tibetan Buddhists around the world. Born into a Brahmin family in Sindhupalchok, Nanda Prasad Timilsina chose the path taught by Buddha and became a Buddhist monk when he was 11 years old. He has been studying and teaching Buddhism ever since. Since 2008, he has been serving spiritual leader Dalai Lama as Nepali translator. He has authored several articles and translated several important Buddhist scriptures. In 2018, he created history by translating Domang, a compilation of Buddhist scriptures, into Nepali language and released it simultaneously in the USA, Europe, and Nepal. He is currently occupied by his pet project ‘Budha Park’ in his birthplace Sindhupalchok. Although, it is called a park, it will also serve as a Gumba-cum-learning center for the local illiterate and backward community. Once construction will complete, Buddha Park will be the first place in Nepal to have a statue of Buddha in standing posture, which will stand 70 feet tall.

बिश्वमा आफ्नो बिशेष नाम कमाइ सक्नु भएका खेम्पो वागीन्द्र शील महायानी बुद्धिस्ट भिक्छु हुनुहुन्छ। उहा नेपालको सिन्धु पाल्चोकको एउटा गाउमा एक ब्राह्मण परिवारमा नन्द प्रसाद तिमिल्सिनाको नाममा जन्मनु भएको थियो। उहा जब ११ बर्षको भयो आफ्नो अगाडी एउटा दुखद घटना देखेर बुद्ध धर्मको बाटो मा लाग्नु भएको थियो । पोड्कास्टमा उहाले आफ्नो जीवनको बारेमा र बौध दर्शनमा गर्नु भएका सर्ह्यानिय कामको बारेमा बाताउनु भएको छ। उहाले २०१८ बौधग्रन्थ दोमांगलाइ नेपाली भाषामा रुपान्तर गर्नु भएको थियो जुन ग्रन्थ तिबेती भाषामा थियो । उहा अहिले आफ्नो जन्मभूमीमा बस्ने सबैलाइ राम्रो र नैतिकवान मनुष्य बनाउने प्रोजेक्ट मा जुट्नु भएको छ।
