When it comes to our Corvettes, more is often better! More cubic inches. More horsepower. More options. And in ’65 there were more choices of all these things than ever before! There were no less than 6 engine and 3 transmission choices. There had never been this many to choose from before . . . or since!

And it was also the end of an era (last year for the fuel-injected small block) and the beginning of another (the introduction of the big block).

In ’65 you could stroll into your friendly neighborhood Chevy dealer and practically custom tailor a new Corvette to your exact specifications! From a (basically) mild 250-300hp 327ci small block to a higher performance 350hp version, to a wild 365hp, all the way to the 375hp fuelie! Not to mention the mighty 396ci/425hp big block! All were excellent choices!

The Rally Red example displayed here is equipped with the highest hp, non-fuel injected engine on offer in ’65. The #’s matching L76 features a Holley carb, mechanical lifters, 11.0 compression ratio, and 365hp/350lbs-ft of torque. And the performance was and is quite impressive!

The car has been completely restored and is optioned with am/fm radio, power brakes, power windows, side exhaust, 3.55 Posi rear end, and knock-off wheels. It has excellent cosmetics and runs and drives as good as it looks!
