CES 2023: Introducing the Volvo EX90 with Snapdragon Digital Chassis technology

The world of electric vehicles just got more exciting. At CES 2023, Qualcomm and Volvo revealed the Volvo EX90, a fully electric 7-seater SUV featuring Snapdragon Cockpit Platform technology. With advanced safety features, in-dash navigation, 5G connectivity, and immersive infotainment, the Volvo EX90 leverages Snapdragon tech to deliver an unmatched driving experience.

The EX90 is also Volvo’s first vehicle that’s compatible with new features and software upgrades being added over time, representing a shift to software-defined vehicle design.

As Martin Kristensson, Head of Product Definition and Partnership at Volvo explains, merging infotainment and other key functions in their automobiles requires advanced software with powerful performance capabilities. The Snapdragon Digital Chassis helps them meet these demands, and the platform is a key component of Volvo’s vehicle architecture and vision for connected and premium driving experiences. The Volvo EX90’s infotainment system is twice as fast as the previous generation and offers superior graphics generation and responsiveness thanks to the Snapdragon SA8155 chip powering its Android-based operating system.
