Alex Crenshaw, founder of the Zen Institute in Mount Shasta, CA, embarked on a transformative journey at 28, leaving a corporate accounting career for seven years of Zen training at the Rochester Zen Center, NY.
Returning to corporate life in Charlotte, NC, he worked six years in a petrochemical company while volunteering with A Child’s Place, aiding homeless children. Later, he earned an MBA from Wake Forest University and moved to California for advanced Zen training, focusing on the subconscious mind through meditation.
Inspired by Zen Masters, Alex volunteered at the Sacramento Children’s Home and taught meditation at Folsom State Prison, witnessing its transformative effects. After relocating to Mount Shasta, he attended a Fraternal Forum retreat and embraced the Teaching of Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov, promoting it through conferences.
