Regular visitors and subscribers to my channel will know that I have a thing for sisters Lyndsay and Chrissie Hammond aka Cheetah. I have always maintained they are among the finest singers in Australia and certainly the best and foxiest rock n rollers in the business! It is 40 years to the week that Cheetah debuted in the Australian chart with 'Walking in the rain', a cover of the Ronettes classic. The siblings would take their soft pop version to #10 in late 1978. Ironically it would be their career highpoint, as the releases that followed could not replicate it; but for me, the more interesting and memorable material they recorded was the kick ass rock and roll thumpers like this title track from their one and only full album released in 1982. As there was no clip for this great track; I've created my own, using footage from other promotional songs for the LP. For me, they are the genuine article and should have been worldwide stars but it was not to be, despite amazing voices, eminent Songwriters, Producers and record label. Even though Heart, Suzi Quatro and Pat Benatar were looming large on the scene, Cheetah did not roar outside of Australia and parts of Europe, but remain Rock & Roll Women of the highest order!
