Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, seeks solace in solitude to escape the turmoil of his dual identity. The public is divided on Spider-Man, with protests and riots erupting over his involvement in the city's crime. Haunted by the deaths of Eddie Brock and Harry Osborn, Peter struggles with his guilt and the relentless media attention.

To distract himself, Peter meets Mary Jane (MJ) at the mall, where they navigate through the bustling Christmas season. However, their shopping trip is marred by anti-Spiderman merchandise, highlighting the public's mixed feelings towards him.

Peter, hoping for a fresh start, lands a job at Oscorp with Dr. Connors. Despite the public's divided opinion, Peter is determined to help Dr. Connors with a serum that could cure the new CEO, Rodrick Kingsley. However, Peter faces a deadline for the cure, adding to his mounting pressure.

As Spiderman, Peter continues to fight crime, but his actions inadvertently lead to the death of an innocent bystander during a confrontation with Dennis Carradine, a man Peter thought he had killed in the past. Overwhelmed by guilt, Peter visits Dennis at the hospital but is soon arrested for his role in Harry's death and other crimes attributed to Spiderman.

Meanwhile, Rodrick Kingsley, driven by the loss of his brother, who was killed by Spiderman, seeks revenge and perfects a serum left by Norman Osborn. Transformed and empowered by the serum, Kingsley becomes the Hobgoblin and targets Spiderman.

During a court hearing, Spider-Man is declared not guilty by a judge who recognizes him from a past heroic deed on the Train between Doc ock and Spider-Man. However, the courthouse is bombed by the Hobgoblin, leading to the judge's death and a violent confrontation with Spiderman, who is severely injured but manages to escape.

Dr. Connors, under threat from Kingsley, injects himself with the serum, which has unintended effects, leading to a confrontation with the Hobgoblin. Peter finds Dr. Connors and helps him escape the burning lab, but Kingsley's family is still in danger.

Despite being arrested, Peter escapes to help Dr. Connors' family and confronts the Hobgoblin, who attacks the police convoy transporting him. In the ensuing chaos, Peter breaks free and faces the Hobgoblin once again, with the fate of Kingsley's family and the city hanging in the balance. Peter, injured and exhausted, facing the Hobgoblin in a final showdown, the outcome of which remains uncertain…
