Our interpretation for this song is that it is about faking adulthood. The meaning of life, or the purpose of one's life, shouldn't be taken so seriously. The stuffed animal (the toy) symbolizes childhood and innocence and the lyrics seem to hint at apathy and a little bit of contempt towards accepted adult behavior.

What is the meaning of life?

We spend a lot of our time bending to social expectations, but in the very end, nothing really matters; there is no meaning. So do as you would like fearlessly, like carrying around stuffed animals or choosing deceptively upbeat songs to answer round themes.
