The XPLORAYTION Sample Changer (XSC) has reached production status!

After 3 years of development and refinements working together with Gustavo Reis de Ascencao and his colleagues from Fraunhofer IPK within a ZIM project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, we are happy to announce that our XSC for true high-throughput synchrotron-µCT is now available for purchase

The XSC sample tray is completely adaptable for different sizes of samples and not only saves a huge amount of time, because it makes searching the hutch when changing samples unnecessary, but also allows you to prepare your samples entirely at your home lab. It is compact, fast, easy to use at every dedicated synchrotron beamline and cost efficient

The first commercial XSC was installed at Synchrotron SOLEIL and is now available for user experiments. Thanks very much for your trust and all fruitful discussions, Jonathan Perrin, Andy King and Timm Weitkamp!

The first user experiment is also already in the books

Marjolaine Matabos et al. from Ifremer recently conducted their first XSC-charged µCT experiments at ANATOMIX beamline. The sample change was reduced from several minutes to a mere 10 seconds!

And of course, we still provide µCT as a service — now because of the XSC at an even more competitive price
