"Eyes: Like Birds" Focuses on the SA's I have experienced and how those experiences affected me as a child and into my life now. Right before creating this album I moved from the smaller city of Greenville SC to Philadelphia and was inspired by the environment and how leaving behind my childhood home brought up old trauma.

This album is conceptually a prequel to "Oh Father, Why Here". Oh Father, while it contains many themes, can be summed up by the word "Acceptance" and Eyes Like Birds can be summed up as "Denial". This is why there are many callbacks to Oh Father and reworked lyrics, samples, songwriting and other elements that are remnant of Oh father.

This album took longer than any other record of mine to make.

I sampled all my friends and bf on this record for giggles. You can hear my friend ash playing sampled drums through the record, he also pig squealed on Take Me: Silent. My friend Aubrey laughing at 2 minutes in "Locusts...". And my bf screaming in the outro track at 1:30


A lot of times when making an album, films inspire the music just as much as other music! this album I was very inspired by Coraline, Wristc*tters, And Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind


This album, as well as all my other albums, was completely made by me (Rex). From the instrumentation and songwriting to the production and mastering, all in my bedroom. I would however like to shout out my friend ash for his drum work and guest vocals, friends for their samples, and the sounds of the Philly streets for making this record what it is!

I (once again) created this album with a broken microphone that would shock me with electricity occasionally, some of the screams were genuine pain.

This album was heavily inspired by As Cities Burn, This Armistice, Circa Survive, Vaux, Albert React, PTV, Johnny Foreigner, Underoath, La Dispute, Lower Definition, TREOS, The Hotelier, and others!
