Ndola Man Robbed of K140,000 in Truck Scam; Brother Severely Injured as Suspects Escape Police Custody

NDOLA, ZAMBIA – A major truck deal in Ndola turned into a nightmare of robbery and violence this week when a man was scammed out of K140,000 and his younger brother was critically injured after being dragged by the suspects' getaway car.
The victim and his brother met the supposed sellers to finalize the truck purchase. In a rapid act of deceit, the fraudsters grabbed the cash and sped off. Tragically, the younger brother was caught by the vehicle and sustained severe injuries as they fled.
Arrest and Great Escape
Police quickly tracked down the suspects after their getaway vehicle crashed. Two men were immediately apprehended and K90,000 was recovered.
However, in an embarrassing turn for law enforcement, both suspects managed to escape from police custody shortly after their arrest.
The Zambia Police Service has impounded the crashed car and launched an urgent manhunt to re-arrest the fugitives and recover the outstanding K50,000. Investigations are ongoing as the victim's brother is said to be in stable condition
