Porsche 997.2 Carrera Throttle Body Replacement (2009 - 2012)

The throttle body is a "drive by wire" unit. That means it is controlled by an electronic signal and that there is no cable or rod from the pedal to the unit.

While very robust, they sometime go bad and need replacement. The throttle body on the 997.2 does have to be removed to service many items on the top of the motor. If you are moving it to service other areas, each time you remove it, you must replace the gasket. Failure to do so can cause a vacuum leak and all kinds of other problems.
