Uma tarde de operações intensas na Base das Lajes marcou mais um capítulo impressionante da presença da Real Força Aérea Neerlandesa nos Açores.
Com destinos distintos e uma missão especial pelo meio, o movimento começou com a descolagem de um Airbus A330 MRTT rumo à Europa, encarregado de recuperar um F-35 Lightning II que, por motivos técnicos, não conseguiu integrar o grupo dos 11 caças que chegaram anteriormente.
De seguida, dois grupos de cinco F-35 Lightning II descolaram com destino aos Estados Unidos da América, acompanhados por dois Airbus A330 MRTT, demonstrando a coordenação e capacidade logística desta força aérea.
Ao final da tarde, registámos o regresso do A330 MRTT acompanhado pelo F-35, completando assim uma operação marcada por precisão, potência e sincronização exemplar.
Os afterburners dos caças de 5ª geração aqueceram literalmente o asfalto da pista das Lajes, num espetáculo de potência e tecnologia que não deixou ninguém indiferente.
Mais um dia de movimento militar intenso numa das localizações estratégicas mais importantes do Atlântico.

An intense afternoon of operations at Lajes Air Base marked another impressive chapter in the presence of the Royal Netherlands Air Force in the Azores.
With different destinations and a special mission in between, the movement began with the departure of an Airbus A330 MRTT bound for Europe, tasked with retrieving an F-35 Lightning II that, due to technical reasons, was unable to join the group of 11 fighters that had previously arrived.
Shortly after, two groups of five F-35 Lightning II aircraft departed for the United States of America, accompanied by two Airbus A330 MRTT, showcasing the coordination and logistical capability of this air force.
By late afternoon, we recorded the return of the A330 MRTT accompanied by the F-35, completing an operation marked by precision, power, and exemplary synchronization.
The afterburners of the 5th generation fighters literally heated the runway asphalt at Lajes, delivering a display of power and technology that left no one indifferent.
Another day of intense military activity at one of the most strategic locations in the Atlantic.
