Jeanne Black - Oh, How I Miss You Tonight (1960)

Описание к видео Jeanne Black - Oh, How I Miss You Tonight (1960)

Charted at #63 on Billboard Hot 100 in January 1961. This song was used here as an answer song to "Are You Lonesome Tonight" by Elvis Presley which was a big hit during the same year. Both were remakes of songs from the 1920's, but this one was actually written a year before "Are You Lonesome Tonight", in 1925, when it had been a hit for Lewis James, Irving Kaufman and the Benson Orchestra of Chicago. Jeanne is best known for her big hit, "He'll Have to Stay", an answer song to "He'll Have to Go" by Jim Reeves. She also had a fair-sized hit with "Lisa". Jeanne is pictured (on the right) with her sister Janie Black who also sang.

Original Billboard review: "Here's a fine old tune, wrapped up in an appealing reading by the thrush. Although the song is an oldie, it is presented as an answer to Elvis Presley's current smash, "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" and features an effective narration by the canary on the bridge. Watch it."

Single released in December 1960.

Written by Benny Davis, Joe Burke and Mark Fisher.

B-side is "A Little Bit Lonely".
