Bulbul Islam’s powerful and resonant voice delivers Rabindra Sangeet with clear diction and great intonational awareness. The artist trained in Rabindra Sangeet at Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyayatan in the eighties, under the close supervision and mentorship of Waheedul Haque. He later had the opportunity to train briefly with Sailajaranjan Majumdar, Nilima Sen and Kanika Banerjee. Islam is closely associated with Jatiya Rabindrasangeet Sammilan Parishat.
