Off-Broadway Theatre Trip: HERE WE ARE at The Shed | the final Stephen Sondheim musical

Join me and Mickey-Jo (‪@MickeyJoTheatre‬) on a theatre trip to the final Stephen Sondheim musical Here We Are, playing Off-Broadway at The Shed's Griffin Theater (‪@TheShedNY‬) in Manhattan, New York City.

The new musical which is inspired by the Luis Buñuel-directed films The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972) and The Exterminating Angel (1962) features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by David Ives, with direction by Tony Winner Joe Mantello and a cast that includes Francois Battiste, Tracie Bennett, Bobby Cannavale, Micaela Diamond, Amber Gray, Jin Ha, Rachel Bay Jones, Denis O'Hare, Steven Pasquale, David Hyde Pierce, and Jeremy Shamos.

ABOUT HERE WE ARE

Running Until 21 January 2024

Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, Here We Are features Francois Battiste, Tracie Bennett, Bobby Cannavale, Micaela Diamond, Amber Gray, Jin Ha, Rachel Bay Jones, Denis O’Hare, Steven Pasquale, David Hyde Pierce, and Jeremy Shamos.

The understudies for Here We Are are Bradley Dean, Adam Harrington, Bligh Voth, Adante Carter, Mehry Eslaminia, and Lindsay Nicole Chambers.

The musical features a book by Tony Award nominee David Ives, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and is inspired by two films, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie and The Exterminating Angel, by Luis Buñuel. Based on two films about dinner parties gone wrong, Here We Are promises to be the theatre event of the season.

Here We Are includes choreography by Sam Pinkleton, set design and costume design by David Zinn, lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Tom Gibbons, orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, music supervision and additional arrangements by Alexander Gemignani, hair design by Robert Pickens & Katie Gell, and casting by The Telsey Office.

Oscar Arce serves as associate producer.
