TRIP REPORT | Is Virgin Atlantic the Best UK Airline? | New York to London | VIRGIN ATLANTIC A330Neo

Virgin Atlantic Trip Report flying from New York to London Heathrow onboard one of the brand-new Virgin Atlantic A330Neo on a lovely summer day.

My first time both with Virgin Atlantic and flying on an Airbus A330-900Neo and I must say I was really surprised. I didn't know very well what to expect from Virgin Atlantic but I must say I had a really good experience onboard.

After a nice planespotting session at JFK Terminal 4, we boarded, by bus, the A330Neo that would take us across the Atlantic. After a quite long taxi, we took off heading southwest. After an almost 180° turn we started our route to London Heathrow.

As we were flying in June the night on the North-Atlantic was extremely short. We enjoyed both a lovely sunset and sunrise, just before one of those amazing approaches over downtown London.

About the onboard service, although it was more or less the standard on this flight, I must say I liked it. There were 2 services: a full warm dinner after takeoff and a small breakfast before getting to London. For the main meal, there were 2 options: chicken curry or vegetable pasta. You can't go wrong with chicken curry on a plane based on my experience. For breakfast they served a warm sandwich, a yogurt, and a cereals bar. Not bad at all for a 6-hour flight!

Talking about the cabin, I must say Virgin Atlantic is probably the most unique one. It's amazing to see how customized it is. The colors, the cabin lights, the crispy screens, the cabin crew uniforms... everything is extremely well tailored and all together make you feel like you are in a unique airplane. For sure it's the best branding in Europe and, so far, one of the best I've seen in the world. Congratulations Virgin Atlantic!
