Dear Evan Hansen is a musical that follows Evan, a bullied high school senior with social anxiety, who is assigned by his therapist to write letters to himself to aid his self-understanding. The letters are inter- cepted and an unexpected tragedy ensues. The musical opened on Broadway in 2016 and earned critical acclaim for its music, score and actors (nine Tony Award nominations, winning six). A film version was not so successful, due in part to the effects of the pandemic on movie-going. This 2018 band arrangement of the score includes Waving Through a Window, For Forever, and You Will Be Found.
