This was something I will cherish for a very long time...

I had the privilege of meeting Datu Umboy of the Tala-andig Tribe while out trekking in the hills of Bukidnon, Northern Mindanao. It was an amazing experience getting to know this man and his family.

His kindness in offering us coffee and shelter, his thoughtfulness in listening to me while I tried to practice speaking Bisaya, and his genuine want to share happiness with me.... I couldn't believe it when he told me I was only the second "americano/white guy" to ever pass through his place, and the first to ever stay.

I am lost for words really... You have left me speechless Datu Umboy. I can't wait to come back and learn more from you!

I decided not to use any background music in the video. I don't need to try and make this exciting to watch, rather I just hope you appreciate how beautiful kindness, thoughtfulness, traditions and happiness can be!

This is "Part 2" of my Mt. Ma-agnaw experience... this is simple happiness and a little look at a traditional ritual! I have left out lots of parts of the ritual as I feel it should maintain its uniqueness :)
