If you go to the Kalaupapa Lookout then you will have a great (yet distant) view of the former Leper colony. You will be pretty high up almost touching the clouds coming in.

There is also another trail leading to a Phallic Rock that could be of interest. The Ka Ule o Nānāhoa is an ancient Hawaiian site of love and fertility.

Kaunakakai speaks for itself. Just a nice little town, most buildings are built of wood in traditional Hawaiian style. You will find a couple of grocery stores, a liquor store, a couple of restaurants, a drinking place, and a few other types of stores.
