Histamine is under Amine Autacoid .Histamine is imidazole compound widely distributed in plant and animal tissue . Histamine also present in the nettle venom of bees and waps . In the mammals Histamine present in the skin ,gastric acid ,intestinal mucosa, lungs, liver and placenta . Non must cell histamine present in brain ,epidermis and growing region. Histamine synthesized locally from amino acid histidine and degrade by mono amino oxidase(MAO). When intercellular cAMP increases are responsible for the inhibition of histamine release. All four type of histamine receptor (H1,H2,H3,H4) are working through GPCR. Histamine shows different type of pharmacological action and Pathophysiological roles. Intradermal injection elicit triple response -Red spot , Wheal and Flare. Histamine is very stable compound and absorb form all site but oral administration is not effective due to its metabolism by liver. Some ADR of Histamine are hypotension, flushing headache, diarrhoea ,visual disturbance. Histamine used for diagnosis purpose also.
