CJST (Contemporary Jewellery Symposium Tokyo) was founded in 2019 by artist Takayoshi Terajima and his like-minded peer, Takashi Kojima, to revitalize, develop, and promote the culture of jewelry expression in Japan through various projects. CJST's mission is to establish a movement that will leave a lasting mark on art history.

The proliferation of the Internet and social networking services has led to a shift in the way people interact with each other, which is constantly evolving. This change has gained momentum due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, leading to divisions between people and places. During the global evolution of online services, I feel in some ways that a sense of forced loneliness has emerged. However, at the same time, people may have come to appreciate the value of face-to-face interactions with family and friends, which were previously taken for granted.

CJST’s Three Projects:

– Symposium: identifying issues and raising awareness among insiders in the field of contemporary jewelry.

– Juried Exhibition: providing opportunities for artists to showcase their work, disseminating information into society, and attracting collectors.

– Donations: creating Japan's first hub for the culture of jewelry expression/ contemporary jewelry and promoting regional revitalization.
