How to Reconnect Your Solis Wi-Fi Dongle | Step-by-Step Tutorial

In today’s video, we’re diving into how to properly reconnect your Solis Wi-Fi dongle to ensure your inverter is fully connected to the internet☀️

Please note that these intstructions only apply to the Newer style Wi-Fi dongle. Not sure which dongle you have? See below 🙂

New Wi-Fi Dongle: The serial number will have 16 characters and will be a mixture of letters and numbers.

Old Style Wi-Fi Dongle: The serial number will have 10 characters and will be numbers only.


Instructions as follows, each step is timestamped to where in video this step takes place:


00:00.00 - Open Solis Cloud app


00:05.70 - Click on your site name


00:08.56 - If this pop up arises, click “Go back to it later“


00:14.62 - Go to "Devices" at the top of the screen


00:18.13 - Then go to "Datalogger" just beneath "Devices“


00:21.10 - Then click the datalogger that is disconnected from the internet


00:25.70 - Then click the "..." in the top right corner of the screen and from the list that appears, click "Wi-Fi Configuration“


00:29.13 - Make sure this datalogger s/n is the same as the one in your inverter and click "Next (1/3)". 00:33.49 - At the bottom click "Browser Configuration“


00:36.57 - Make sure the green light is flashing on the datalogger and then click "I'm sure it is flashing" 00:40.73 - Click "Go to Connect". This will take you to your mobile devices Wi-Fi settings


00:45.39 - From the Wi-Fi list, find the one called "Solis XXXXXXXXXX“


00:49.87 - Use the password 123456789 and click "Connect“


01:10.10-Wait for a second as your phone may ask you if you would like to stay connected to this Wi-Fi as it has no internet. Click the notification and select "Yes“


01:16.47 - Click the back button in the top left corner to go back to the Solis Cloud app


01:17.63 - This is where we can choose your Wi-Fi details.
In the top box, click the circle in the right side of the box and a list of possible Wi-Fi networks will show up.


01:20.12 - Choose your Wi-Fi name from the list.


01:23.13 - In the box below your Wi-Fi name, input your Wi-Fi password.


01:31.29 Click "Next (2/3)".


01:34.15-Click "OK (3/3)".


01:34.44 - Click the back button in the top left corner.


01:36.33 - Press the back button once again
