Episode #63 - We're in Castropignano, Italy making Italian Pastarella cookies with special guest Nonno's 86 year old 1st cousin, Antonietta Macoretta. Today she is teaching us how to make #Pastarella a traditional and popular Italian soaking cookies... meaning they are meant to be dipped in milk, coffee and even wine. If you grew up in a Molisani Italian household then you know these cookies. This is a very old recipe that my Nonna always made for me growing up. I have great memories of these cookies and my favorite part about them is how soft they are inside. There is one ingredient that is needed to make them soft inside and it’s called Baking Ammonia. #BakingAmmonia is a very old fashion baking ingredient our Grandparents and Great Grandparents used a lot in Baking. Look for it in your local supermarket and if you can’t find it there order it on Amazon. Watch to get the step by step instructions so you can make this for your family and friends. One important ingredient that she adds is cooking with her heart. So, be sure when you make this you do it with all your heart. Enjoy!
