A get together kindly hosted by Paul and Biddy at their lovely garden railway with special celebration for the birthday of Mick Mumford.

These live steam and electric locomotives are mostly spirit (meths) fired. Some use butane gas through a ceramic burner to generate the steam. A couple are fired on real coal stoked into the fire box every few minutes. Nothing beats that magical smell of a coal fired steam engine.
They have working lubricators to oil the steam going to the cylinders.

Most have 2 working cylinders but the Project has only 1 central cylinder. A couple of these wonderful machines have 3 or 4 working cylinders. A lot of parts to engineer into a small space.
