New dramatic bodycam footage shows Ecuadorian police during yesterday’s prison riots. Verified video shows heavily armed officers entering the Turi penitentiary in Cuenca. They used riot shields and tier gas to force prisoners back into their cells.

At least 79 inmates have now died in riots across three prisons in Ecuador. The unrest was reportedly caused by rival gangs and at least one escape attempt. Authorities regained control of the facilities after violent clashes broke out on Monday.
