A record-breaking heatwave has hit the city causing a power cut at Hope Zion, which traps Maggie and Joel in the elevator with a dialysis patient.

From Season 2 Episode 7 "Bed One": When a heatwave hits the city, Alex is appointed Trauma Team Leader, as Hope Zion is faced with an increase of patients during the blackout. The power cuts out, so, Dawn and Charlie must figure out a way to continue their surgery. Meanwhile, Joel and Maggie are stuck in the elevator with a dialysis patient and are struggling to keep him alive.
