Today, on 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to show you 12-volt outlet kit from road-master, part number RM-9332. Now this is good for a variety of applications. In this case, this vehicle need a future upgrade to a supplemental braking system that requires it's own power supply from the battery. With this part number this is what you get. You get the wire horse, with the outlet for your 12-volt accessories, and the other end that goes to your ground, and your fuse holder right here. This comes with small self tap screw for the ground, and this is also a fuse tap. For a lot of instances, you actually tap into the fuse box to get power from. Basically, that connects up to circuit as power constantly with the key on or off. Now, on our install we are actually going to run this straight to the battery.
We are going to have to modify this by cutting it. Now to get it ready to cut, I'm actually going to take the ground wire side and I'm going to pull back a little ways, and cut this wire right here. Now, we need to run this through existing ground-let, inside the vehicle. We'll go ahead and point that out next. Look underneath dashboard, just left to the pedal, you see the wire-horse that goes through the firewall. Now at the very top opening that you can stick a screwdriver through. We'll go ahead with our pull wire through.
Now my pull wire is actually a piece of old airline chafing , it can be any piece of material like a wire, or anything that can hold a shape as you run it through ground-let. Go ahead, and take up the loose end first that we cut. This wire here, go head and tape that, and push that out through our ground-let. Let's go ahead and put a fuse hold back onto our wire. Use a small butt connector with 16" and 14" gauge wires. Now, go ahead add our fuse holder back in. Alright, we add some tape to help protect the connection. Now, our fuse holder end, this end is not going to work with our battery, so we are going to go ahead and cut that off.
Replace of a ring terminal. We'll go ahead and remove this nut right here, and put our ring terminal underneath it. We will need a 10 millimeter socket for this. Then we'll add our ground to the existing ground, that's on the side of the vehicle. Let's undo this ground right here. Do a check with our ring terminal, to see if it fits or not.
We may have to modify it. We'll go ahead and put knots on the ring terminal, easier to go around the threads. I'm just going cut it, make it little bit wider, put on it on inaudible 00:03:17. Re-install the nut. Now, we will simply pull our slack back through to the inside. Personal preference on how you want to route this. What we are actually going to do, is is route this up to this compartment right here, and we can store it on the inside. This part we loose, unloose. Take the bottom and gently pull it out, and pull the whole thing out. We are actually going to route the outlet to this little panel off to the left hand side. We're going to deal a small 1/4" hole. That way we can zip tie our wire to it, and that'll hold in place, inside the panel. Cut off the end, and simple re-install the panel back in place. Make sure we have enough length left over, so we can easily pull out and use it. We are now finish for our 12-volt outlet kit from road-master, part number RM-9332, on this 2015 Jeep Cherokee.
