He is perhaps best known for this speech that he delivered to the British forces on the eve of battle in Iraq. The speech would appear on the cover of most newspapers around the world the next day and is reputed to be framed on the wall of the President of the USA.

"To liberate, not to conquer. We will not fly our flags in their country. We are entering Iraq to free a people and the only flag which will be flown in that ancient land is their own. Show respect for them".

"There are some who are alive at this moment who will not be alive shortly. Those who do not wish to go on that journey, we will not send. As for the others, I expect you to rock their world. Wipe them out if that is what they choose. But if you are ferocious in battle remember to be magnanimous in victory."

Tim Collins remarkable leadership skills have been honed over a career lasting 22 years with the British Army which includes eight years as an officer in the elite Special Air Service. He has published his best selling book 'Rules of Engagement' and is a regular commentator for both BBC and Sky News.

Tim Collins is a natural speaker and leader. He often talks about the importance of gaining support and commitment before asking people to do something that they are unfamiliar with. He likens the requirements on the battlefield for planning and strategy to the operations of a successful business.

Born in Belfast in 1960 Tim now resides in England. He was educated at The Royal Belfast Academical Institution, Queen's University and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
