The barn find Mach 1 Mustang runs and drives for the first time in almost 10 years!

Well, yall we were finally able to get the barn find 1969 Mach 1 Mustang running and idling low enough to hear that Erson cam and figure out what's going on with the C4 automatic transmission. We did a quick clean and rebuild of the 600 cfm Holley Performance Carburetor. Got the 750 cfm Quick Fuel carb with the Proform main body pulled off the 302ci Ford small block. Stuck the Holley 600 back on there and finally figured out why it wouldn't idle all the way down. We turn the electric choke 180 degrees out, so it won't function. With the car idled down you can really hear that Erson Cams part number E210121 "The Performer" which has 292/292 duration, 214/214 @ 50, 478/478 lift, and 110 LSA. The C4 automatic must have a good leak because we added a total of 3.5 quarts of transmission fluid and the trans now works in at least low and reverse. The cam shaft is almost to must for what acts like a stock stall converter. The car was able to idle around the yard under its own power for the first time. I cannot wait to see it in on piece! I went to O'Rielly Auto Parts and got what we needed to change the oil with 15w-40 Rotella T5 and a new WIX oil filter part number 51515. I hope yall are enjoying the content. Motor needs the bottom end rebuilt. Unfortunately, after the oil change it still rod knocks after it gets hot.

This is a factory 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that was candy apple red with deluxe red interior. Had a 351 Windsor 2 valve 250 Hp with a FMX automatic and a 3.00 gear open carrier 9-inch ford rear end.
