Barna Verba - R.I.P. (Acoustic Version) | (Official Lyric Video)

R.I.P. (a.k.a. Rest in Peace) is a song that’s considering the issue of the afterlife. What happens when we die? We all are running around in circles, trying to make the most of our lives. So we all run and run… When it ends does it continue? What does the afterlife look like? Is it going to be restful, or just a whole other work starts? Are we too exhausted to go on if it’s more work?
I’m a Christian, so I believe that it probably will be both. Good works will be continued, but in the presence of God we also find rest. The work done for God is a beautiful empowering burden if you can even call it that. When I wrote the song I was wondering about these questions and I invite you to think about these things.
Also is it possible that we can already have a meaningful life that already works towards the afterlife? I believe that we can, but our self imposed burdens might make this life stale and difficult. It’s easy to become exhausted from working for our own sake. Our salvation is only through Jesus Christ so all our work has to be put under His authority. I invite you to explore faith in Christ and accept His victory over death, His sacrifice to take our sins away and His gift of eternal life.
