Review & Demo: TC Electronic John Petrucci Dreamscape

If you hate my voice and ramblings...
Audio demo with CLEAN guitar begins at 3:32
Audio demo with OVERDRIVEN guitar begins at 16:29
TONEPRINT demo begins at 25:16

Equipment Used: Carvin DC747 (passive with coil splitting hucklebucks), Wampler Ego Compressor, Blackstar HT-Dual Distortion, Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man, TC Electronic Dreamscape, Presonus Forestudio Mobile, ART V3 mic preamp, various Dimarzio, Shure, & Fender cables, Logitech c910 stereo HD webcam, Mac Mini OSX, and Quicktime.

This is a fantastic pedal with an AMAZING - dare I say staggering? - amount of flexibility and usable tones. The presets are lush and beautiful. The tone print section allows you to download and try all sorts of new chorus/vib/flange creations from various artists beamed straight from your phone, into your guitar, and into the pedal! The tone print editor allows you to make your own creations as well.

As per my usual, I blather on and on, but there's quite a lot of audio demo-ing in this vid. Pretty much I use a looper for a phrase and then just mess with the knobs in real time so there's the constant comparison. Sure, you may hate the riffs by the end, but damned if you don't know what this pedal can do!

Riffs stolen from Dream Theater: "Count of Tuscany" intro. "Strange Deja Vu" bridge. "Constant Motion" intro. There's probably others, but for the most part I just riff and vamp and jive, and... bosk?

Stay tuned for my shootout between this one and the stereo Electric Mistress!
