Our Big Red Bash adventure is coming to an end but not before we visit the endangered Australian Bilbies at Charleville. One of the best experiences we have ever had as we watch Bilbies hop around their nocturnal house and are education on the plight of these little Aussie battlers.
Then we head back to Bourke and find peaceful Mays Bend free camp just on the outskirts of town.
Our final night brings us to Peak Hill where we are surprised to learn that the town has its very own open cut gold mine within easy walking distance from the caravan park.
