In this episode, we look at the difference between Phillips Head (PH) and Pozidriv (PZ) Screws and bits.

Pozidriv is basically just an upgrade to the Phillips Head that added additional ribs set at 45 degrees to the original cross and delivers more torque to the screw with less chance of slipping (camming out)

Phillips Head was Patented in 1932 while the Pozidriv was Patented in 1962.

You can use a Phillips diver in a Pozidriv screw and vice versa, but it does not fit as well and is more likely to slip out, especially when under heavy load (torque)

Use Pozidriv where possible for both the bit and the screw.
