20240829 Apple Valley Granite Hills Vs Rialto Carter Lions

Описание к видео 20240829 Apple Valley Granite Hills Vs Rialto Carter Lions

Granite Hills added a new trick to this season to compensate for a lack of talent; aggression. You see them rapidity attacking the line attempting to pull the offense ahead of the football being hiked only to be called off sides or encroachment.

The defense will shoot the gaps in the offensive line when the aggression fails to achieve the desired penalty of movement. They will rush the punt which is an irregular move as usually the offense will be looking to move down field; Granite Hills is playing money ball going for high percentage plays that paid off.

The aggression played out with continued penalties for ruffing the quarterback, targeting, late hits and other personal foul. This plan eventually resulted in one player (11) being ejected. Rialto’s passing game showed Granite Hills weakness in passing defense. Carter’s passing game will only become more threatening as the Lion’s season continues.

The aggression was eventually returned with the Lion’s pushing back. This action appeared to result from Granite Hills practice of targeting rather than tackling. When the offensive player’s progress was halted a second defensive player would leap towards the offensive player rather than assisting the other player in stopping motion. Helmet tackles will be repeatedly used.

This aggression reminds me of the 02 season when Barstow showed Sky League how to defeat Granite Hills by eliminating their onside kick trick and employing a smash-mouth-football defense. Barstow needs to learn from this game and initiate a smash-mouth game plan by the time they meet Granite Hills and player 11.

I expect that this year’s meeting to be an old fashion claw and hammer, knock-down, drag-out game that know one should miss. I expect ejections by the end of the first quarter and ambulatory injuries.
