But surprisingly, the thieves have returned the idol to the Temple each time. Mridanga Saileswari Temple in Kannur, Kerala is one of the 108 Durga Maa temples built by Lord Parashurama; this Temple gained the national spotlight when Alexander Jacob, a retired DGP of Kerala Police, shared his remarkable investigation experiences. On multiple occasions, thieves tried to steal the idol but could not take it more than a few kilometres from the Temple each time. During the first attempt, the thieves admitted feeling disoriented and experienced an uncontrollable urge to urinate and defecate, leading them to abandon the idol. In a second attempt, the idol was found discarded on the roadside, along with a note asking for its return to the Temple. In the third incident, the thieves couldn’t make it far and left the idol in a lodge. Surprisingly, they even conducted a puja with flowers for the deity in their lodge room. Devotees claim they can strongly feel the presence of Goddess Durga’s power at the Temple. It seems the robbers have felt this power, too but in a different way. Jai Ma Durga! #goddessdurga
