Faster Than Lasagna Bake.

The weather finally turned cooler and I felt like using the oven. I may as well have been born a fat and famous orange cat (Garfield 😂) because I LOVE lasagna. I don't love how fussy and expensive lasagna can be though.
If you just have to make the layered version I say go for it. All of the ingredients, minus a change in pasta, still apply.

For this recipe I made my own sauce, using all homegrown ingredients, but you can use a store bought sauce to make this even faster!!!

My basic and favourite fresh sauce includes these simple ingredients:
tomato, onion, garlic, oregano and basil.
I love this simple yet awesome sauce so much that I freeze bags prepared (raw, not pre-cooked) and ready to go into hamburger at any time.

Besides the sauce I used 4 cups of dry spiral noodles that I cooked and didn't quite use all of them once cooked. If you have too many noodles your sauce ratio won't be quite right. I browned 1 pound of ground beef but ground pork or chicken would be okay if that is your preference. Maybe you make it just vegetarian and omit the meat. Of course I used Parmesan, cottage and mozzarella cheeses but you maybe noticed that I didn't use nearly as much cheese as a lasagna would require! Money and calorie savings right there.
