The Hulk - Cannabis Rolex for Advanced Nutrients

The one-of-a-kind stainless steel Rolex “Hulk” Submariner (Ref. #116610LV) took 150 hours of engraving, adorning a Cannabis and Hulk theme band, clasp, case, and bezel. The Advanced Nutrients logo and the number 20 are featured amongst the cannabis leaves on each side of the band, and a portrait of the recipient Trevor designed to mimic the moment Bruce Banner is blasted with Gamma Rays in the original Hulk comic book, completes the engraving. When you take the watch off and look on the underside of the case itself, you will find a hand engraved illustration of Jack Kirby’s original Hulk #1 comic book cover artwork. Custom cut emeralds and diamonds were faceted and channel set into the bezel of the submariner.

There is a graphic depiction of trichomes on each side of the case along with the THC molecular symbol. Various shades of gold were alloyed in house including 18k green gold, 22k rose gold and 24k yellow gold. These shades of gold were created to add color to the design. For example, the Hulk on the case back is 18k green gold and the Advanced Nutrients logo features all three of the alloys. In order to affix the gold to the steel, an area of steel is removed by hand, the walls of the relief area are then undercut, spikes are raised and the gold is hammered into place using a micro sized hammer.

Pneumatic power provides a hammer action to the hand piece used to engrave each detail in the Rolex 904L steel. At about 3000 strokes per minute, the graver works almost like a wood chisel and the hand guides and pushes to remove the steel. Working within tolerances of fractions of millimeters, the x20 zoom Leica microscope helps to see exactly where the graver needs to cut.
