11 Plus Prep | What are homographs? | Part 3

Описание к видео 11 Plus Prep | What are homographs? | Part 3

Topic: Homographs

Homographs are words that are spelled the same but have different meanings and may or may not pronounced the same. For example, bat (a flying animal) and bat (a stick for hitting in sports).

In UK, questions based on homographs are commonly asked in 11 Plus (grammar school exams) and some private school entrance exams.

For the kids who are starting to learn about homophones or homographs, visuals helps to link the words to their meanings (and spellings) and help them remember and differentiate between them.

Here are some examples:
wind, wound, shed, right, swallow, object, tear, produce, present, prune, sewer, refuse, park, well, sentence, shed, soil, watch, squash
