The concept is clear and manifest. A generous interior void, from which the whole collection is visible. A contemporary “Wunderkammer/Cabinet de curiosités” where the objects are not arranged in the classical way. The building is organized in two parts around the large void which allows for two façades, one internal and one external. The outer layer houses the work and research part of the program, with functions such as administration, library, laboratories, taxidermy workshop and activities for the public.

The glazed inner layer is dedicated to the exhibition of natural objects, positioned in boxes of different sizes. One of the biases of the project is to not separate the storage / archiving from the exposition areas. All objects of the collection are shown to the public. Another bias is to find an alternative taxonomy, a possibility to arrange the world in a new way. By altering the linear procedures of the 19th century, and exploring an organization in coherence with the 21th century. (by Septembre architecture)

O conceito é claro e manifesto. Um generoso vazio interior, a partir do qual toda a coleção é visível. Um contemporâneo "Wunderkammer / Gabinete de Curiosités", onde os objetos não estão dispostos na forma clássica. O edifício está organizado em duas partes ao redor do grande vazio que permite ter duas fachadas, uma interna e outra externa. A camada externa abriga a parte do trabalho e da investigação do programa, com funções como a administração, biblioteca, laboratórios, oficina de taxidermia e atividades para o público.

A camada interna envidraçada é dedicada à exposição de objetos naturais, posicionados em enquadramentos de diferentes tamanhos. Uma das características do projeto é a de não separar o armazenamento / arquivamento das áreas de exposição. Todos os objetos da colecção são apresentados ao público. Outra é encontrar uma taxonomia alternativa, a possibilidade de organizar o mundo de uma nova maneira. Ao alterar os procedimentos lineares do século XIX, e explorando uma organização em coerência com o século XXI.
