I decided to get off the train at a random stop en route to Chongqing from Xi’an during my two week trip and ended up in the small city of Hanzhong. It was a refreshing change in scenery from the loud and fast paced culture of Xi’an, and a side of China that I’ve never seen on social media. The high tech and colorful skyscrapers in the mega cities will always be impressive, but the Chinese small city life offered a 1990s kind of charm and was fun to walk around. And the cafes were sooooo cute omg definitely a highlight of the trip!
