I updated to 15.0.1 today and had so many issues with split screen. I figured things out so wanted to make a video to share.

Pros and cons with the update. There is a lot more flexibility, but I still don’t think it’s very user-friendly (especially compared to Windows), and it’s not super intuitive.

For some reason, once I did this, things started to work:
1. Hover over the green button.
2. Go down to the Full Screen tab (which I didn’t notice at first).
3. The Split Screen options are now in that folder vs where they used to be.
Move/Resize does allow for split screen, but you have to manually drag the windows around so it’s not super intuitive. The Fill and Arrange seems to be more “automatic” per se.

There are now actual shortcuts to split screen so if you made your own (like I did), they won’t work anymore. Go to View, Move and Resize to find the shortcuts.

When you use the shortcuts, it also doesn’t really initiate split screen like it used to. You have to now drag the other window you want into place.

There is also now the option to drag a window to the left/right so it can go into Split Screen (see picture), but it’s still not ideal because the window will often switch to another desktop vs “clicking” into place (like it does with Windows)

Before doing all this, Apple Support recommended I restart my Mac in safe mode. I don’t know if that did anything, but I did do it so am putting the instructions below just in case.
1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac to turn on your Mac and load startup options. When you see the startup options window, release the power button.
3. Select your startup disk, but don’t click “Continue.” It's named Macintosh HD, unless you changed its name.
4. Press and hold the Shift key, then click the "Continue in Safe Mode" button below your startup disk.
5. When you see the login window, you might also see "Safe Boot" in red text in the upper-right corner of the login window.
6. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

They also said make sure to have "Displays have Separate Spaces" enabled if you don't already.
-Settings, Desktop/Dock, Scroll to the very bottom, It's the last option.
