Css prepration is the dream of every competent student but to accomplish this, a candidate must follow certain things. CSS is the abbreviation of Central Superior Services. this exam is conducted every year in the month of February. Federal Public Service Commission conducts (FPSC) css exam to appoint in BPS-17 (Basic Pay scale) under Federal Government of Pakistan. CSS is a dream of every hard working and dedicated student so as to serve the homeland. Every year around 20,000 candidates apply for CSS exam but only 8-10,000 candidates appear in the css examination in order to save their attempts. While only 2-3% of the total candidates manage to qualify the written part. CSS Exam Written part : Guidelines
Written Exam:
The written examination of CSS consists of total 1200 marks. The total of 1200 marks is divided into two equal parts which are optionals and compulsories. Compulsory subjects possess 600 marks and the same in the case of optional subjects.The written part of this exam consists of 12 papers, each of 100 marks. Six papers are compulsory and remaining six papers are to be selected from the list of Optional Papers. A broad range of the optional subjects are given in the form of various groups of subjects to be selected by the candidate. Each question paper consists of ‘descriptive questions’ as well as MCQs(Multiple choice questions). MCQs are required to be answered and attempted on a separate Answer-sheet which will be given before the descriptive paper. 20 mcqs are asked in the objective part and 80% marks are allocated to descriptive part. Descriptive question are to be attempted on the Answer-book. Only blue and black ink is allowed for writing the papers. The passing-marks and the passing criteria for each compulsory subject is 40% which means a candidate is bounded to gain atl east 40 marks in the compulsory subjects
