Trasimeno Music Festival 2013

Angela Hewitt's ninth Trasimeno Music Festival was held in Umbria, Italy in 2013. Seven concerts in seven days were held in the Castle of the Knights of Malta in Magione, the Basilica of San Pietro in Perugia, and the Church of San Domenico in Gubbio. Angela performed alongside violinist Chloe Hanslip, cellist Oliver Coates, clarinettist Mark Simpson, the Mandelring Quartett, soprano Barbara Hannigan, the Orchestra della Toscana and conductor Hannu Lintu. Composer Michael Berkeley was interviewed by broadcaster Eric Friesen about Benjamin Britten and author Julian Barnes joined the musicians for a special evening of words and music.

The festival brings together musicians and music-lovers from all over the world for a week in an inspiring setting. Alongside the music, the festival offers the opportunity to visit the famous hill towns of Umbria (Assisi, Perugia, Todi, Gubbio, Orvieto) and to delight in Umbrian cuisine at the Gala Dinners preceding three of the concerts.
